HSAA, Berlin, Germany

Emerging from the Mixed Reality Lab at the University of Nottingham (UK), Holger Schnädelbach Adaptive Architecture (HSAA) designs, implements and evaluates architecture that is adaptive to its inhabitants. The focus has been on the work around embodied adaptive architecture, and the feedback loops that are created by technologically mapping people’s behaviour to the behaviour of architectural structures. Research has been conducted through field work, prototyping and deployments with the aim to develop theoretical abstractions.

Holger Schnädelbach is currently working as freelance architect on various projects in and around Berlin, Germany. He is co-editor-in-chief of the Springer Series of Adaptive Environments.
